It's the best way because the girl starts crying as you explain to them "oh we have both changed, things aren't what they used to be blah blah" and then they get angry (natural progression of feelings) and what do people do when they get angry in a car? They get out and slam the door in your face! This is PERFECT! Not only did she get out without a fight, but she is safe at home where she can call up her best friend and trash you all night. Of course you drive off right away as you don't want her to realize it's "actually over".
